About

The Telling

Blurring the boundaries of what a concert is, The Telling bring you intimate “concert-theatre” pieces to transport you back to the Middle Ages through ballads, music, poetry and story-telling. Their vision is to create a new kind of concert experience for the 21st century, while encapsulating the spirit and music of the past.

Formed in 2009 to create their first project: A Medieval Christmas, the group is now working on a new programme, Unsung Heroine, which will be tried out in London on 26th September and be premiered at the Brighton Early Music Festival on 6th November.

The members of The Telling have appeared in leading venues and festivals across the country, as members of several leading early music and folk ensembles including I Fagiolini, Eclipse, Mediva, and The Askew Sisters.
